JOB SEARCH ASSIGNMENT
Job Search Reports. The student will turn in a report of three current job listings he or she has researched that would be of interest to the student. The report will be prepared using a format available from the professor.
Formatting your report:
1. Choose three job listings in your field of interest that you might apply for in actuality. (In other words, jobs you might apply for if you were out of school right now.)
2. For each job listing, write a summary in your own words of what you think the job entails, and then briefly describe the skills and requirements of the job.
3. After writing the summary for the listing, write a paragraph that explains why you might be interested in this job and how you match up to the qualifications needed. Explain what areas of skills or knowledge you might need to overcome to do the job effectively. Therefore, each job should show two sections of text - one for the job description; the other addressing how you match up to it.
4. Repeat the above for the other two listings. Everything should be typed. Double-spacing is not necessary.
5. As an appendix to this assignment, turn in a printed copy of the job listing as you saw it. Please put the listings in order of report. Include any descriptions that were a part of the listing.
6. Turn completed report in on paper to class on day due. Do not email me any assignment. Only printed copies will be graded.
Have fun!
