EXTRA CREDIT ASSIGNMENT FOR VIDEO PRODUCTION

By fully completing this assignment, you may receive up to 10 pts toward your lowest test grade. No late extra credit assignments will be accepted, so make sure to turn in your paperwork by the deadline.

Deadline for all paperwork: October 29 - in class.

Guidelines:

1. Make arrangements with a local TV station to watch one of their live newscast productions.

2. Arrive at the station 15 minutes early, then observe the operations as they produce the program.

3. Make notes of anything intersting or new to your understanding of video production.

4. If possible, talk to some of the personnel about their jobs and procedures - don't be annoying though - wait until they are free to talk.

5. When you get back on campus, write down your experience.

6. Organize your observations into two areas - what happened during the production, then your observations about things you observed that were especially interesting or helped your understanding of video production.

7. Turn in paper on time to Dr. Pace - approx. 1 1/2 to 2 pages - single spaced, typed.
