As a junior, he majored in Speech/Drama Education and minored in Broadcasting.

Pace graduated from Evangel in 1982 as the outstanding Speech/Drama Education graduate. He began dating his future wife at Evangel during his senior year. Jill Grimes, a junior from Cambridge, Ohio, was the roommate of Lorna Pace, his sister. Jill and Cameron were engaged in October of 1982. While attending Evangel, Pace worked as a disc jockey at country and religious radio stations during the summers back in Michigan. He was also a staff member at KECC and helped with advertising layout for the Excalibur. As a senior drama student, Pace directed the 4-act play The Matchmaker by Thorton Wilder for the Evangel theater.
In the fall of 1982, Pace enrolled at Regent University (formerly CBNU) in the master of arts program in communication. At Regent, he studied film and television production, graduating two years later. While at Regent, he shared an apartment with two other Regent students, one being Dr. Mark Kelton - an Evangel grad. Pace's master of arts thesis dealt with effective methods of church advertising, especially using television. In June of 1983, Jill and Cameron were married at his parent's church in Kalamazoo. Jill, a business graduate from Evangel, began working in banking in Norfolk while Cameron completed his graduate degree.
